Quite often this term is used when mentioning games and graphics in them. Directx is a unique set of APIs that are designed to solve multiple tasks related to the programming segment. It was created specifically for Microsoft products – different versions of Windows, and is mainly effective for writing any games for computers. Directx is associated not only with graphics processing, it controls sound streams, is responsible for processing data coming from input devices – it can be a joystick or a standard keyboard. Modern versions require hardware support from devices – for example, users who have more modern computers and a video card supports Shader Model 4.0 can install Directx 10 or Directx 9.

Please note that the main DirectX libraries are already present by default in all editions of the Windows operating system, but still users sometimes encounter errors of this kind: the d3dx9_42.dll file was not found or the d3dx11.dll was missing. All this, as a rule, is connected with the absence of some Direct X libraries in the system.

These and any other problems associated with the absence of certain DLLs can be solved by downloading the official web installer, which will automatically (upon startup) determine which DirectX libraries are not on your computer, then it will download and install them, regardless of which you have an operating system: XP, Windows 7, 8, or Windows 10.
